Microsoft is reportedly working on adding a wallet for the cryptocurrency Ethereum directly to its Edge browser. Furthermore, this feature would allow Edge users to send and receive cryptocurrencies and NFTs without needing additional extensions.
The wallet is being tested on a small scale and functions as a non-custodial solution, providing users complete autonomy over their funds. Albacore, a pseudonymous software documenter, reportedly uncovered this experimental feature of the Edge browser, as per a report by BleepingComputer.
The public keys of the Edge Crypto Wallet enable users to receive payments, while the private keys, which must be kept confidential, are necessary for approving transactions. The wallet is in the early stages of development and is only accessible to Microsoft Edge Dev Channel users.
