Changpeng Zhao (CZ), a famous billionaire and entrepreneur, is a Chinese Canadian businessman. Zhao has developed several businesses, but the most renowned company is Binance, a crypto exchange. CZ created Binance in 2018 and is the world’s largest exchange by volume. The other notable business projects of Mr. CZ include OKCoin and Blockchain.info.
Changpeng Zhao, the most famous name “CZ,” is Chinese by birth and belongs to Jiangsu province of China. His father was a professor in china, and Zhao had also worked at McDonald’s to support his family at the initial stage of his life. Mr. Zhao moved to Canada in the late 1980s and studied at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, majorly in computer studies.
Mr. Zhao started his career as a software developer at Tokyo Stock Exchange and worked at Bloomberg to develop future trade order software. Later, Mr. Zhao returned to China in 2005 for a while and founded Fusion Systems, “some of the fastest high-frequency trading systems for brokers.”
Mr. Chengpeng Zhao started cryptocurrency projects in 2013 and established Blockchain.info and OKCoin. Later, he left OKCoin in 2017 and worked on developing a cryptocurrency exchange called “Binance.” The Binance collected a fund of $15 billion through initial coin offerings on the eve of its inauguration in July 2017. The exchange performed very well and placed itself as the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume in Apr 2018. Forbes Magazine ranked Mr. CZ third on the list of wealthiest people in the cryptocurrency and raised his net worth to $1.4 billion in September 2018.
